STAND CONTRIBUTORS

This is a great opportunity for journalists with an interest in human rights and development issues. Candidates for this position should have strong writing skills, an ability to work well with editors and meet deadlines.

STAND News is a not-for-profit initiative, and as such this is a voluntary part-time role with an expected time commitment of no more than 2 hours per week and attendance whenever possible at our monthly editorial meeting (1 hour).

VIDEO EDITOR

Candidates for this position should have strong skills in creating and editing online video content. The Video Editor will work independently and with the rest of the editorial team produce and commission weekly content that uses video to explore global and development issues.

The successful candidate will receive training and support from the STAND News team and will be responsible for:

  • commissioning and creating video content weekly (1-2 pieces)
  • helping editors source video content as necessary

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well in a team, is highly organised and open to collaboration with other editors, writers, photographers, illustrators etc.

Candidates for this position should have strong writing/editing skills and a passion for the arts and culture. The Arts & Culture Editor will produce and commission weekly arts and culture content with a specific focus on human rights and development issues. This is a great opportunity for journalists with an interest in the role of arts and culture in the fight for global justice.

The successful candidate will receive training and support from the STAND News team and will be responsible for:

  • updating a monthly editorial calendar
  • commissioning and writing content weekly (2-3 pieces)
  • sourcing images/video content as necessary
  • editing and updating content using WordPress
  • scheduling posts on social media

The Diversity & Inclusion Editor will produce and commission weekly content that explores issues of equality, particularly in relation to ethnicity, class and religion. This is a great opportunity for journalists with an interest in equality and the fight against racism and discrimination.

The successful candidate will receive training and support from the STAND News team and will be responsible for:

  • commissioning and writing content weekly (2-3 pieces)
  • sourcing images/video content as necessary
  • editing and updating content using WordPress
  • scheduling posts on social media
