Rachel is our editorial intern. She comes from Belgium where she recently completed her Master’s in International Law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. During her studies, she did an internship at L’Echo – a Belgian newspaper. Prior to that she went to UNamur’s Law School and cheated a bit on Law by completing another degree in Political Sciences, specialized in International Relations. Her main interests are politics, climate justice and music. She has spent almost a decade volunteering for various cultural organisations, mainly music related, and you can’t make her stop singing.

Amyrose is our Humanitarian Editor. She’s a final year student at Trinity College Dublin studying English. She has lived in Dublin, the midlands and the east coast of Scotland. She joined the STAND team as an outlet for her twin passions of writing and global justice. When not daydreaming about travel, Amyrose can usually be found watching TV quiz shows or bopping to Joni Mitchell.

Cassie is our women’s section editor. She is an Irish-qualified lawyer and a current student of the LLM in International Human Rights Law at NUI Galway. Her chief areas of interest are women’s rights, minority rights, climate justice and human rights law.

Cassie is our women’s section editor. She is an Irish-qualified lawyer and a current student of the LLM in International Human Rights Law at NUI Galway. She has also recently completed diplomas in Development Practice at TCD and in Environmental Law at King’s Inns. She spent Summer 2019 as a research intern at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in South Africa, working on a project about women and peace processes in South Sudan. She also interned with Oxfam Ireland (Spring 2019) on a research project about best strategies to get women elected in Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Her chief areas of interest are women’s rights, minority rights, climate justice and human rights law. She also loves all things Art-related and she even took a year out from her legal studies to go to art school!

Deepthi is our Arts editor. She completed last year a master in international relations in UCD, specialising in Gender Violence during conflict. She’s interested by forced migration, climate change, gender violence, conflict in Middle East and North Africa, International business, reviewing films and documentaries. Her hobbies are travelling, photography, writing, cooking, motor bikes and movies! She’s been contributing for STAND since June 2018. Interestingly, she has a car driving licence but never drove a car since the driving test.

Particularly keen on environmental issues, she’s also interested in intersection of environment and politics, conservation, biodiversity and climate justice. She spent two years in Slovakia when she was very young and was almost fluent in Slovak back in the days.

Doireann is a Recurrent Contributor. She’s currently studying for a postgraduate diploma in law in the Law Society. Previously, she has completed a BA in economics and political science. Her main interests are current affairs and politics, particularly international relations and human rights issues, although you could probably tell that from looking at her articles! Interesting fact, Doireann has coached gymnastics since she was 16.
