At STAND News, we believe in the power of sharing stories that celebrate and connect ordinary people doing extraordinary things to make the world a better place. Our contributors come from a range of backgrounds but all have one thing in common: the desire to bring about positive change in the world. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

The STAND Student Festival is run by students, for students, to raise awareness about the burning issues shaping the world around us. Previously known as the 8×8 Festival, we have been bringing award-winning photography and film to campuses across Ireland every autumn. This year’s festival will include a student art and photography competition to highlight the impact of climate change around the world.

Our part-time evening course will deepen your understanding of issues such as climate change, migration, gender inequality, sustainability, trade and debt. Interactive sessions with experienced change makers will connect you to the biggest challenges facing the world today and to the people who can help you take action to make the world a fairer place.

If you’re tired of talking about problems and want to make change happen then join us on our transformative summer programme. Come with your idea for change, or take up one of our challenges. Get the expert guidance and support you need to make your idea for change a reality over 100 days. You’ll work with other energised and innovative young people to design effective and creative solutions to global and local issues.
